I make functional pottery for every occasion. Anything from big beautiful bowls, to mugs that you will use everyday. All of my pottery is made by hand in rural Waumandee, Wisconsin, about 30 minutes from the Mississippi River.
My creative process starts with weighing out the clay and wedging it. I weigh the clay so that all of my mugs or bowls are close to the same size. I enjoy making one of a kind pieces. Even if they are the same color you can still see small
differences in each piece. After I make each piece I clean up the bottom with my fingers or trim a foot. Once I have made enough pottery to fill up the kiln, I start to stack pieces inside each other so I can fit as much as I can into the bisque fire.
