Gabriela Marván’s art represents the connection between all humans and nature.
Her colorful sculptures made with a traditional technique: cartoneria (coming to Mexico from Spain in the 16th Century) create a whimsical world. She starts the structures with wire, reed frame or clay molds, followed by layers of paper. She mostly creates Catrinas (dressed skeleton ladies), skulls, skeletons and Judas(decorated devils) based on her roots and traditions.
